Event and Activities
Who is this retreat for?
This retreat is tailored for adventurous women seeking an action-packed getaway in the Alaskan wilderness who value exploration, nature, and the thrill of outdoor activities.
Do I need experience with any of these activities?
No prior experience is necessary. The retreat is designed for participants of all skill levels, with support and guidance provided throughout the activities.
Will there be any free time?
Yes, certain days will include designated free time for participants to relax, explore independently, or engage in additional activities.
Will I be sharing a room?
Yes, participants will be sharing rooms and potentially beds. Specific arrangements will be communicated upon booking.
Accommodations and Location
Where is the retreat held?
The retreat will take place in various beautiful locations throughout Alaska, including Palmer, Soldotna, and Girdwood.
What are the accommodation amenities?
Participants will enjoy comfortable lodging with amenities that allow them to relax and unwind after a day of adventure.
What’s the nearest airport, and is transportation included?
The nearest airport is Anchorage, Alaska. Transportation for guests is included throughout the retreat.
What are our transportation guidelines?
Transportation will be provided for guests during the retreat, including airport pick-up, between the hours of 6am and 10pm. If you plan to arrive or depart outside of those hours you will need to plan your own transportation.
How many people will be at the retreat?
The retreat can accommodate 8 guests, with a total capacity of 10, including the host and co-host.
Meals and Dietary Preferences
Are meals included?
Yes, all meals will be provided by your host (s).
Can you accommodate dietary restrictions?
Yes, dietary restrictions will be accommodated as best as possible. A food preference questionnaire will be sent out to you where participants are encouraged to communicate their needs and preferences.
Booking and Payments
What is the cost of this retreat?
The total cost of the trip is $6,499 and will be split over 3 payments of $2,166 that will be invoiced and sent to the contact email you provide upon booking. Payment 1 is due at the time of booking. Payment 2 is due 3/15/2025. Payment 3 is due 6/15/2025.
How do I reserve a spot for the retreat?
Simply book your spot by adding the retreat you would like to attend to your cart and pressing the check out button.
Will I be charged interest or any fees for not paying in full?
No, we are happy to split the total cost into three payments. No fees, just come and have the time of your life! We are so proud of you for investing in yourself and doing the things that excite you - this is going to be the trip of a lifetime! **Please note that invoices not paid by the due date will acquire a $25 per day fee.**
What if I want to pay in full?
We are happy to work with you if you want to pay in full! Please email us at info@heroutdoorjourney.com to make this arrangement and reserve your booking!
What is the refund and cancellation policy?
If you are unable to make the trip for any reason you are able to transfer your deposit to another lady or receive 75% (of your payment) as a credit to use for a 2026 HOJ event. In the unlikely event that your guides have to cancel the trip, you will receive a full refund!
General Information
What should I bring for the activities?
A detailed packing list will be provided upon booking.
Will there be Wi-Fi and cell service at the accommodation?
While Wi-Fi may be available in some accommodations, cell service can be limited in remote areas during the retreat. Participants are encouraged to unplug and enjoy the experience fully.
Are there any additional charges?
You will need to get a fishing license. Additionally if you would like to bring your fish home you will need to have the fish processed and frozen (see below for more details).
What is the cost for fish processing?
The cost of processing and packaging is approx. $2.65/ per pound. You will also need to purchase a fish box (usually around $25) or buy a cooler from the store for travel.
Can I fly home with my fish?
Yes, you can check fish as one of your luggage items with your airline. We will make sure it is frozen before you travel. You can purchase a fish box from the fish processor, or you can get a cooler from the store in town.
What do I tip my guide?
While tipping is optional it is greatly appreciated by our hard working guides and hosts. 10%-20% of your retreat cost is standard tipping/ gratuity rate.
Do I need to be a certain age to attend?
This retreat is for guests 18 years and older.
