Feeling Stuck in the Chaos?

In a recent episode of the Soul Summit Podcast (Listen to the episode here!), Courtney Prete takes us on a journey into the transformative power of accountability. With warmth and honesty, she dives into the importance of self-assessment and introspection, asking the tough questions that help us evaluate the habits, actions, and decisions shaping our lives. Her message is clear: personal growth begins with accountability, and it’s time to take ownership of our actions and well-being.

Through this article, you’ll gain actionable tools to realign with your goals, set meaningful boundaries, and take steps toward a more intentional, fulfilling life. It’s time to show up for yourself and create space for what truly matters.

Regular Self-Check-Ins

How often do you pause to ask yourself how you’re really doing? Courtney challenges us to reflect, saying: "How often are we checking in with ourselves? Am I giving myself what I need to move forward in the best ways possible?"

This week, take 5 minutes to write down:

  • One thing you’re proud of.

  • One area where you feel “off.”

  • One small action you can take to realign with your goals.

Getting to the 'Why'

When life feels off-track, it’s tempting to just fix surface-level issues. But Courtney emphasizes the importance of understanding the root cause as to why you feel off, and digging deeper.

Ask yourself: Are you overcommitted? Burned out? Out of alignment with your values? Identifying the "why" allows you to make lasting changes instead of temporary fixes.

Next time you feel overwhelmed, pause and ask yourself:

  • “Why am I feeling this way?"

  • "What’s one small change I can make to address this feeling?”

The Power of Boundaries

Courtney shares that boundaries are essential for protecting your energy and staying accountable. "A lot of times when I get thrown off course, it’s because I’ve probably overloaded and said yes to too many things."

Learning to say no allows you to prioritize what truly matters and avoid burnout. Identify one commitment this week that drains your energy and plan a kind, but firm way to say “no” next time.

Feelings vs. Truth

Motivation is fleeting, but Courtney reminds us that our actions don’t have to depend on how we feel. "We commonly do life based on motivation... We’re going to either show up or not show up based on how we feel mentally," she explains, pointing out how easily emotions can derail our intentions. Acknowledging that feelings are only temporary empowers us to focus on long-term goals and take action anyway, even when it’s hard.

When you feel unmotivated, ask yourself:

  • “Is this just how I feel, or is this a real barrier?”

  • “What’s one thing I can do right now to move forward?”

Grace in the Process

Growth is rarely linear. Courtney encourages us to give ourselves grace, saying, "Sometimes you have to give yourself a whole heap of grace in the process."

Remember, even small, intentional habits add up to big transformations over time.

Celebrate one small win this week, no matter how minor it feels. Progress is progress.
